D-3518 [읽지 않은 책에 대해 말하는 법]

이 책은 독서와 비독서의 개념을 고찰한 책이다.

This book made me thinking what is reading and what is not. However it gave a new insight of reading.

D-3518 [반미]

미국은 한국과 혈맹 관계인 우방국이다. 그런데 광화문의 미국 대사관과 한국전쟁때 우리의 적국이었던 러시아와 중국 대사관의 풍경을 비교해 보면, 후자는 평온한데 반하여 전자에는 중무장 경찰 수 백명이 보초를 서고 있는 모습을 볼 수 있다. 이는 마치 한국의 적이 미국이 아닌가 착각할 정도이다.

한국의 반미는 반미주의라기 보다는 반미감정으로 보는 것이 옳다 하겠다.

반미는 세계 곳곳에서 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 있으며 그 종류 또한 다양하다. 그러나 재미있는 것은 "양키 고 홈"이라는 구호 뒤에 작게 "그리고 나도 데려가라"라는 말을 덧 붙혀 썩소를 자아내는 유머 아닌 유머가 이해가 되는 현상 또한 발견된다.

미국이 이렇게 여러 나라 여러 민족들로 부터 배척 당하는데에는 미국이 지구 경찰 (Globo Cop)을 자처하여 여기 저기 간섭하기 때문이 아닐까 싶다.

It took longer than the others. Maybe I am getting bored of this endless story.
I am in the middle of the story, yet I am not looking forward the lest of the story.

I wonder it contains actual 1,001 nights units, because I have finished volume 3 which is ended with the 236th night. It is quite a quoter yet.

이번 책을 읽는데에는 이전의 두권 보다 좀 더 오래 걸렸다. 아마도 싫증이 나나보다. 이야기의 중간에 도달했는데 남은 이야기가 궁금하질 않다.

실제로 1,001밤의 이야기가 있을지 의문이 든다. 왜냐하면 총6권중 절반인 제3권까지 읽었는데, 이야기 상으로는 4분의 1일도 안돼는 236일째 밤으로 끝나고 있기 때문이다.

The book reminded me two persons: one was someone who I knew personally. When I saw the picture of real Ned, I took a photo by iPhone and sent it to him. The other was a cartoon character. 깡통로봇 in Robot Taekwon V. Ned wore a rubbish bin as mask as 깡통로봇 wore a kettle. Both were looked silly to me in the same way.

이 책을 읽는 동안 두명이 생각났다. 한 명은 내가 개인적으로 아는 사람이라서 책 속에서 Ned의 실물 사진을 보았을 때,  전화기 사진기로 사진을 찍어 전송해 주었다. 또 생각나는 다른 인물은 로보트 태권 브이 속의 깡통로봇이다. Ned와 깡통로봇은 우습깡스러운 쓰레기 통과 주전자를 뒤집어 쓴다는 비슷한 점에서 연관이 되었던 것 같다.

This book shows 13 people who are good to be mentors for our children and youths.
The book collects these by the theme of "견리사의(見利思義):눈앞에 이익이 보일 때 의리를 생각함". Their lives and thoughts are challenging to me.

As an adult, I only know one of them. Even the one, I have heard about his name only, not his life neither his spirit.

이책은 우리의 아이들과 청소년들에게 멘토가 되기에 좋을 법한 인물 13명을 소개한다.
見利思義의 주제로 위인들을 설정했다. 이 사람들의 삶과 사상이 나에게 도전이 된다.
어른인 난, 겨우 1명만 안다. 아니, 그 한 사람마저도 이름만 들어 알뿐 그의 삶과 그의 정신에 대해선 무지했다.

"Why do I have to read books?"

왜 책을 읽어야 하는지에 대해 질문을 받은 적이 있다.
정작, 내가 해야 했던 질문이다.

"왜 나는 책을 읽어야만 하는가?"

D-3626 [4차원 인생의 힘]

This book is a sort of weird. It does not have a genre, I guess, it is a mixed of some genres; at first, I thought it was a self-development book then it turned into an autobiography and then becoming a sort of religious book. After all, I felt like it was a collection of short stories for sermons or a pastor's preaching notebook.

Another funny thing about is that the author quoted himself in the book; this is his book. He could say whatever he wanted to say, but he put quotation as borrowing someone's authority or insights, in fact, it was himself.

이상한 책이다. 하나의 쟝르가 아닌 쟝르짬뽕이다. 처음엔 자기 계발서인 줄 알고 읽었는데 중간에 자서전으로 바뀌더니 나중에는 종교서적으로 변했다. 다 읽은 후 어느 목사의 설교공책을 읽은 것인지 설교 예화 모음집을 읽은 것인지 구분이 안될 정도 였다.

또 다른 웃긴 점은 저자가 자신의 책에 자신을 인용한다는 것이다.  이책은 그의 책이 아닌가! 저자는 자기가 쓰고 싶은 말을 쓰면 될텐데, 자신의 말을 인용한다. 마치 다른이의 권위나 영감을 인용하는 것 처럼 말이다.

읽었슴.

이 책의 제목을 보거나 듣게되면 항상 나는 호주가 생각난다. 왜그러는지는 모르지만 그렇다. 아마도 나라 이름의 발음이 비슷해서일찌도 모를 일이다. 오즈나 오지나.

Have you notice the little different of the title?

It is not stories of one thousand and one nights.

It is about days instead of nights.

When I decide to read 1001 books, the first book on the list was [Stories of one thousand and one nights]. I was on the way home with a hurry. I dropped by the local library and grabbed the wrong book by mistake.

I laughed out loud all by myself when I had realized what happened.

However, this is good stories though. I enjoyed it.

1001권의 책의 목차 순서대로 읽기로 결심하여 그 첫번째 책인 [천일야화]를 빌릴 때의 일입니다. 급하게 집에 오는 길에, 도서관에 들려 책을 빌려 왔으나, 실수로 다른 책을 가져오게 된 것입니다.

처음엔 좀 이상했으나 나중에 어떻게 된지 알게 되어 혼자 웃었답니다.

아무튼 이 책도 재미있게 읽었습니다.

최정화 교수의 책 중에 두번째 읽은 책이다. 감동적인 내용이 있는 책이다.

D-3638 / [Aladdin and the enchanted lamp]

This is level 1, which means very easy and funny. I like this story. I also love the film produced by Disney.

이 책은 레벨1이라 아주 쉽고 재미있다. 나는 이 이야기를 좋아한다. 또한 디즈니사에서 만든 영화도 좋아한다.

I had to read this book with a rush yesterday, because of the due date to return to library. It is a detective story, which is a kind of what I don't like. Especially, this one is. It was so obvious, that I could guess, and it was right. I lost interesting to read it in the middle of the book.

어제가 도서반납일이어서 급하게 이 책을 읽어야 했다. 추리소설인데, 내가 좋아하지 않는 종류의 것이다. 특히 이 책은 더욱 그러했다. 너무나도 뻔해 결과가 예측가능할 뿐 아니라, 내 예상이 맞았다. 책 읽는 중간에 흥미를 잃고 말았다.

I was glad to find the story of Sindbad. I didn't know few things about it; Sindbad paid Hindbad to listen his stories, Sindbad had traveled 7 times altogether and Sindbad was not a child like this picture.

천일야화 2권을 읽었다.

내가 알지 못하던 신밧드(이 책에는 신드바드로 번역됨)의 이야기가 있었다; 첫째, 신드바드는 힌드바드에게 자신의 이야기를 해 주고 돈(한번에 100세켕씩 총 700세켈)을 주었다. 둘째 신드바드는 총 7번의 바다 여행을 했다. 그리고 마지막으로 신드바드는 위 그림과 같은 어린이가 아니였다. (ㅋㅋ 조크)

It seems to be a famous because it has been made for films, but I am not sure about funny or interesting. I found it boring.

영화로 제작될 정도로 유명한 이야기 같으나 난 잘 모르겠다. 너무 지루하게 읽었다.

I found these books by accidentally at a second-handed bookshop today. As far as I remember, these series of books were that I had read through for the first time in English. Ah~, Good old days.

오늘 우연히 헌책방에서 이 책들을 발견했다. 내 기억에 의하면, 이 백과사전 질이 내 생전 처음 끝까지 읽은 영어책이다. 아~ 그때가 그립다.

이 책을 읽고 그 대답을 얻게 되었다.

There are two kinds of books in this blog in order to post: usually books that I have read and books that I intend to read. [The Message] is the latter. It is very thick. It can't be done over a night. I wonder how long would it be done. We will see.

여기엔 두 종류의 책들을 올린다. 대개는 내가 읽은 책들이고 간혹 내가 읽고자 하는 책들이다. [더 메세지]는 후자에 속한다. 두꺼워 하룻 밤에 다 읽기 힘든 책이기 때문이다. 끝까지 다 읽는데 얼마나 걸리지 궁금하다. 두고 보자!
